About

Emily began taking riding lessons at four years old in Long Island and hasn't been able to stay away from horses since. Shortly after moving to Buffalo, New York in 1996, Emily's parents found a local barn, Nancy Bechtel Training Stables, for her to continue her lessons and begin competing at nearby Hunter/Jumper shows.

Emily was lucky enough to become involved with Eventing through Sue and Terry Williams of Chestnut Ridge Equestrian Center in Gasport, New York, who owned the former Olympic Gold and Silver medalist Trakehner stallion, Abdullah. Taking Emily under their wings, they taught her the ropes of Eventing, breeding, and properly starting young horses. Eventually, Emily began travelling with them to Wellington, Florida for the winter months where she was introduced to even more of the professional equestrian world, surrounded by some of the most talented athletes in the sport. The tools and knowledge gained from Sue and Terry were invaluable, and she will be forever grateful for her time spent with them.

During her time at Chestnut Ridge, Emily also had the pleasure of having Alexis Brown, or "Lex" as she is better known, as a riding coach and mentor. An extremely talented rider, Lex excels in starting and bringing along young horses and gave extensive insight on that process along with expert horse care and barn management. After her time at Chestnut Ridge, Emily then had the opportunity to work for multiple Olympic athletes. Including, Olympic event rider, Darren Chiacchia, and Ecuadorian Olympic Athlete, Ronald Zabala-Goetschel, which even furthered her knowledge and experience of riding, along with professional horse care and management.

In recent years, Emily has had the privilege to train with top riders including Waylon Roberts and Bobby Meyerhoff

Through her years of experience, Emily has gained immense knowledge in the equestrian field, which has led to the development of her program. Based in Howell, MI during the summer and Aiken, SC for the winter months, Emily enjoys training and teaching horses/riders looking to develop their skills in eventing, dressage or show jumping.
