ABOUT
Emily is an accomplished upper level event rider, who has successfully competed through the 4* level. Emily offers decades of experience in horse and rider development, high level competitions, and exceptional horse care and management.
At the age of 4, Emily began riding in Long Island NY, quickly developing a passion for horses and riding that she has carried her entire life. After moving to New York, Emily continued to further her experience under the training of Nancy Bechtel Training Stables. Under Bechtel’s training, she developed a strong foundation competing in Hunter/ Jumpers before transitioning to eventing.
Emily began her eventing journey in an immersive world-class learning environment under the mentorship of Sue and Terry Williams of Chestnut Ridge Equestrian Center in Gasport, New York. Here, she developed her knowledge of correct horsemanship, breeding, and development of young horses. The Williams’ program was home to the legendary Trakehner stallion Abdullah, Olympic Gold and Silver Medalist, and provided Emily with a rare opportunity to learn from true horsemen at the highest level of the sport. Emily traveled with the Williams’ to Wellington Florida where she was exposed to the demands, expectations, and standards of the international professional equestrian circuit.
While at Chestnut Ridge, Emily also received training and mentorship from Alexis “Lex” Brown. Lex is known for her expertise in starting and producing young horses. Emily refined her skills in horse development, elite equine care, and excellent barn management; assets that she still carries with her program today.
Following Chestnut Ridge, Emily went on to work for multiple Olympic-level athletes, including U.S. Olympian Darren Chiacchia and Ecuadorian Olympic event rider Ronald Zabala-Goetschel, further expanding her experience in upper-level competition, professional training systems, and international-caliber horse management.
In recent years, Emily continued to improve her competitive skills by training with some of the industry’s top professionals and competitors including, Waylon Roberts and Bobby Meyerhoff.
As of today, Emily is based in Aiken, South Carolina, where she operates her program with a horse-first mentality. Emily’s training focuses on producing confident and correct horses and riders. Her approach combines classic fundamentals and modern sport horse development, making her a sought-after trainer for riders aiming to progress through levels, and owners seeking thoughtful, high-quality care for their equine partners.
In Emily’s program, Riders can expect thoughtful, individualized instruction, exceptional horse care, and a trainer deeply invested in helping each horse and rider reach their goals—whether building confidence, advancing skills, or competing at the next level.
